Hair Extensions For BRIDES!

So eveyone knows that your wedding is THE most important occasions (looks-wise) of your life. You will cherish not only the memories from your special day forever, but also the photos!! Every bride wants to look and feel like a princess...
Even if you never use hair extensions, I'd absolutely reccommend them for special occasions such as weddings. If you're nervous about using hair extensions, ClipHair extensions are the perfect choice for you. They are very easy to apply, and to remove, and cause absolutely no harm to your natural hair. They are made from the highest quality human hair, and come in a wide range of colours - so no one will know that you are wearing them unless you tell them!
They're also alot easier to style than extensions which are glued in or bonded in other ways, because you can unclip them, move them around, and even style them separately to your own hair. You can also keep adding more, depending on just how luscious and voluminous you want your wedding day style to be. They come at a snip of the price of bonded extensions, and can be worn again and again.

My Favourite Hairstyles for Brides:

The Ballerina Bun:
It takes good bone structure to pull off this look at your wedding, but if you are blessed with high cheekbones, this is a gorgeous look to show off your immaculate wedding day makeup and make you look like a true princess. It's also a great style if you're attempting to stick to a budget for your wedding, as it's really easy to create yourself. Visit the ClipHair youtube channel www.youtube.com/elliecliphair to see how to recreate the look.

Halo Braids

I absolutely love braids on brides. They look so pretty, delicate and feminine and look stunning with a grecian style dress. If I don't decide to go for a big bouncy half-up-half-down look at my wedding (see Jennifer Stano below) then I will definitely go for a braided look. With a little practice, braids can become second nature to your fingers! Waterfall braids are also gorgeous for a wedding - again, tutorials can be found on the ClipHair youtube page.

Simply Waves
I also love simple waves on a bride. With a gorgeous dress, flawless makeup, and perhaps a tiara and veil, many women don't need intricate hairstyles to complete the look. By creating really luscious and healthy looking waves, with a little help of course from ClipHair, you can still look your ultimate best.

My Favourite Bridal Celebrity Styles:

1. Jennifer Stano:

Model Jennifer Stano has to be my all time favourite bride! I think she looked just stunning on her wedding day and she will definitely be my inspiration when I get married. I love the fairytale look of her wedding and the way she looks slightly OTT and full on glamourous, but still classy and elegant. Her hair looks gorgeous and was created by hair hairstylist Cynthia, using hair extensions of course! If you're brave enough to do your own hair for your wedding, or perhaps you just want to look stunning as a guest or bridesmaid, I'd reccommend having a few trial runs so you know you'll be super confident on your special day. Alternatively, show this page to your hairdresser!

Jennifer's own hair is shoulder length, and the styling started with a bouncy blow dry to give her natural hair alot of volume. Layer by layer, hair extensions were clipped in, and tonged with a large barrel curling tong to create the loose curls which Jennifer describes as 'beachy waves'. At the top of Jennifer's head, heated rollers were used to create extra volume around the crown. Her stylist then pinned up the upper sections of her hair at the back, creating a 'half up-half down' look, enabling Jennifer to have her hair down, without it being in her face. If she had wanted a more ornate look for her hair, this would have been the time to insert roses or diamonds, or whatever she fancied. Claire's Accessories stock a wide range of hair decorations which are attached to tiny spirals. Simply by swirling the spiral into your hair, it looks as if you have 'floating' decorations in your hair. These are really popular with brides. Jennifer had quite a detailed tiara and veil, so she didn't feel it was necessary to have any more going on with her hair. Personally I LOVE this style. It looks so feminine and pretty. If you want to get Jennifer's style, I'd reccommend using at least two packs of full head ClipHair extensions, and perhaps adding more after your trial runs depending on whether you feel you need them. You can tell from the back of her hair that she has ALOT of extensions in, and it's worth it for your special day when you want to look your all time best.

2. Kate Middleton
I'm not particularly into the royal family at all, but I was still swept up in all the magic of the royal wedding last year. Kate Middleton therefore is my second favourite 'celebrity' bride. I wouldn't go for her style myself, because I don't think I could pull it off - but I still think she looks stunning in her own way. She looks so elegant and classic and beautiful.
Her hair is actually all her own, but if you're anything like me and most people I know, you won't be blessed with such gorgeous bouncy locks. Fear not, they are very easy to recreate - and this is one look which I would say is much easier to create than, for example, the one above, without the help of a stylist.
Kate's look was created by blowdrying the hair using a big barreled curling brush, and then setting it in rollers. Heated rollers are extra handy because they help the hair to stay in position once they're removed. When creating a similiar look with extensions, you can either put all your hair extensions in and then apply rollers, or set your hair extensions separately to your actual hair, and then apply them afterwards. Either way has a similar effect :)

3. Eva Longoria
Eva has to be the winner of the best up-do prize. She always looks so effortlessly chic, and her wedding day was no exception. Eva actually had her hair down for the ceremony, but switched to an up-do later to enjoy the celebrations at her wedding reception. Even though I am a regular hair extension user, I would seriously reccommend any hair extension virgins to try them for their wedding. They absolutely transform your hair, and Eva will have definitely used hair extensions for this up-do. To recreate this style I would curl the hair all over, with hair extensions in using rollers, which will just give the hair soft and subtle waves. Then, whilst I am fixing the hair up at the back, I would secure a roller away from my face at the front, to create the flirty flick you can see on Eva. The back can be secured with pretty decoration 'swirls' as described above. They look so pretty on brides.

Good luck on planning your bridal hairstyle future brides! And remember if you have any questions or need any help just email ClipHair or contact me through the ClipHair youtube! www.youtube.com/elliecliphair

PONYTAIL LAUNCH!!

At ClipHair everyone is very excited for the launch of the new and highly anticipated ponytail human hair extension piece! The new ponytail is now in stock just in time for summer, and comes in the same wide range of colours that you get your regular extensions in!

- Human hair
The new ponytail piece is made from the same high quality 100% human hair found in the regular ClipHair extensions. This means that it can be styled with straighteners and curling tongs, and washed to keep it in immaculate condition.

- Easy to attach
The hairpiece comes with a easy to attach clip and two ribbon ties for extra support, ensuring your ponytail won't budge, and no one will no your secret. This fixing also means that there is no tell tale 'lump' that is common with ponytail extensions and will blend perfectly with your own hair.

- Colour match service
The new ponytail hairpieces can also be matched in the same way as ClipHair extensions, simply send a photo of yourself in, or a hair sample. Find more details on this service on the ClipHair website - www.cliphair.co.uk

Ponytails have been all over the catwalks for Spring/Summer 2012. Check out this one for example, from Donna Karen's Spring/Summer collection. The tight slicked back style also has the added bonus of giving it's wearer an instant facelift!
Mid height ponytails have been given a preppy twist on the Ralph Lauren catwalks, where little styling has been given, adding a natural and relaxed touch to the look.
For a really feminine and soft look, why not add a ClipHair human hair fringe to your pony, a la Rachel McAdams.
Rachel here has used a large barrelled curling tong to give her pony large waves. To get Rachel's voluminous look, simply backcomb the upper half of your head before attaching your pony, which could be ready curled. Then clip on a fringe, and you're good to go! Alternatively, for a more sharp and sophisticated look, keep your extension pony super straight, along with your fringe. Slick back your natural hair, clip on the ponytail and fringe and watch heads turn!
The ponytail's are so quick to clip in, it really couldn't be simpler. To see how quick and easy it is, visit the ClipHair tutorial page - www.youtube.com/EllieClipHair

So  if you're ready to keep up with Summer's latest trend, stay tuned at

Britney is Back! Blonde Bombshells...

Whenever Britney Spears’ hair is mentioned, the first thing that comes to mind is her infamous head shaving incident in 2007. However, 5 years have passed since then, and whilst Britney's hair may not have grown back to it's former glory, she is looking as fabulous as ever thanks to hair extensions!
Britney cemented her comeback this week as she appeared onstage at the X Factor USA Launch alongside Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell, looking radiant and glamourous with her shiny blonde locks.
Brit's hair has now grown to around shoulder length, so she has added length and a little thickness to her hair.
If you're after Britney's blonde bombshell tresses, ClipHair offer a wide range of blonde shades. Most similiar to Britney's are Bleach Blonde (#613) and Lightest Blonde (#60).
It's not just Britney who has been stealing the spotlight with her gorgeous blonde hair, TOWIE's resident glamourpuss Lauren Pope has been out and about DJing looking her usual preened self. Lauren isn't shy to admit she is a hair extension lover, and always wears clip ins to avoid damaging her hair.
If you're looking for Lauren's subtle but sexy blonde shade, ClipHair offer extensions in Light Golden Blonde (#16) and Dark Blonde (#14), both of which are perfect matches for Pope's shade.

Girl group of the moment, The Saturdays have been all over our screens turning us green with envy recently, promoting their new single 30 Days. I've always been in love with Mollie's cute, bouncy style, but no matter how hard I tried I could never recreate it. Her hair always looks so thick and full of life. One afternoon, I was experimenting with my hair straighteners, trying to imitate Mollie's locks. I tried clipping in some extensions, and trimming them to her length. My hair finally began to resemble Mollie's! I can only conclude that to get her enviable hairstyle, she uses a few artfully placed extensions to give added thickness. ClipHair have 15" extensions, which are the perfect length to simply add volume and thickness, and help recreate Mollie's style!

Nicola Mclean attended Nikki Grahame's book launch this week looking back to her fabulous best after the tragedy of miscarrying her baby. Her hair was the centrepiece to her cute playsuit, with lots of volume and va va voom! Nicola's look was created by using heated rollers and extensions - plenty of them! To recreate Nicola's sultry style, I'd reccommend going for double wefted extensions, as it seems Nicola is a fan of Cheryl Cole's mantra - 'the higher the hair, the closer to heaven!'
Light Ash (#22) from ClipHair are the exact shade of Nicola's hair.

This Week's Celebrity Hair Trends

THE BAD:

Chantelle Houghton can be forgiven for the state of her frazzled hair as she’s due to give birth to Alex Reid’s baby in the next month, but with a little more attention her hair extensions could be looking a million dollars! Chantelle’s extensions look like they need a good brush and condition, and perhaps a wash as they could contain product build up. I like to wash my hair extensions with a gentle but conditioning shampoo and conditioner, and I am a big fan of the Redken All Soft range. Before leaving my extensions to dry naturally, I like to apply a little Redken Velvet Whip so that they are in their original silky soft condition once dry. Chantelle could do with running the straighteners over her extensions as they look a little matted and unkempt.
You can check out my video on washing and keeping your extensions in great condition at www.youtube.com/elliecliphair

THE GOOD:

It’s rare that Geordie beauty Cheryl Cole is ever spotted looking less than perfect, so it’s no surprise to see her looking her usual gorgeous self out and about in Hollywood preparing for her performance on US version of The Voice.
Cheryls’s simple style looks classy and stylish, and the loose waves make her hair look natural and healthy.
While Cheryl may be genetically blessed, her recent L’Oreal adverts proved that even Cheryl gets help in achieving her tumbling locks with a few carefully placed hair extensions. Cheryl is the perfect example of someone who doesn’t need extensions as much to create length, but instead to add thickness and volume to her hair.
She does it well by keeping her extensions in great condition and using styling products to suit her hair.
You can see videos on how to create loose waves on YouTube – www.youtube.com/elliecliphair

TREND OF THE WEEK:

Beyonce showcased her flawless natural beauty this week with an on trend top knot, along with Kim Kardashian, who set tongues wagging when she touched down in London sporting a very tight top knot, and appeared to have less hair than usual. It appears that Kim Kardashian has taken out her hair extensions, as usually her top knots are much larger. If you aren’t blessed with the same long, luscious locks that Kim has with or without extensions, you can easily copy Kim and Beyonce’s style using a hair doughnut and your ClipHair extensions. Check out the YouTube channel for topknot tutorials!

OTHER NEWS…

Katie Waissel has managed to work her way back into the spotlight this week after going public with her relationship with Capital FM DJ Greg Burns.
Whilst I have never been a fan of Katie’s I have to admit she is looking lovely with her new brunette ‘do.
Katie’s super thick look has been achieved by using lots of extensions. A similar look can be achieved by using ClipHair’s double weft extensions, which are cleverly created by layering the extensions in double strips to give you more volume and thickness. Finish off with soft waves and a centre parting and you’re good to go!

Along with the rest of the TOWIE cast, Lauren Goodger has never been shy about revealing her love for hair extensions. Goodger showed off her salon style at the Men in Black 3 premiere. Lauren’s look can be achieved by blow drying your natural hair and then clipping in your extensions afterward. Straightening the extensions in a curved motion towards the end helps to add volume and bounce a la Goodger!

Pretty Ponytails

Ponies are no longer only a casual style.  They have become such a versatile style that can take you from day to night, the gym to a five star restaurant! Thanks to hair extensions, your ponytail can now be as luscious and glamorous as you please! Celebrities are often spotted sporting thick and glossy ponytails... which have almost all been created with the help of hair extensions!
Extensions can transform thin, limp and lifeless locks into gorgeous, glossy up-dos, and with the launch of ClipHair's new human hair ponytail everyone can get celeb style at a snip!
The new ponytail pieces from ClipHair are made from 100% Remy Human Hair, and are the same fabulous quality as all of the ClipHair range. The hair can be styled using your straighteners, heated rollers or curling tongs - unlike many of the synthetic ponytails on the market. The human hair makes the ponytail look incredibly natural and blend seamlessly with your own hair. There is no fake 'plastic' look to the hair, so no one will be able to tell that your gorgeous swishing mane isn't your own hair!
There are many ways to wear a pony -
Slick ponytails can be striking and cutting edge. By simply running a hair gel (I adore Redken's Water Wax 03) over your natural hair and attaching a human hair extension ponytail, you can look catwalk ready in minutes!
Side ponies can be sultry and seductive or sweet and ladylike. These are also ideal if you like to have some hair framing your face and aren't sure about having all your hair swept back. These look stunning when styled in loose waves!
Wavy ponytails are the epitome of old school glamour. By tying your extensions to one side and running your straighteners in a circular motion you can achieve a gorgeous, feminine style easily.
Long glossy ponytails, often seen on celebrities such as Kim Kardashian are achieved by using human hair ponytail attachments and are the perfect way to give the appearance of thick and healthy hair.
A few accessories to help you get your perfect ponytail:
Dry Shampoo - Cheap and cheerful Batiste Dry Shampoo (available widely from Boots and Superdrug and many supermarkets) is great for giving hair a more dishevelled and lived-in appearance as well as adding volume. Using a thin toothed comb for backcombing creates height at the crown - a gorgeous, glamorous look. I often like to tease my hair with a comb and dry shampoo in order to make it look really thick and volumous!
Check out the ClipHair website (www.cliphair.co.uk) and YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/elliecliphair) for more tips, such as pretty braids to compliment your ponytail.
The styles shown below have been created using hair extensions and hairpieces. Infact, it's rare that a ponytail spotted on a celebrity has been created without using extensions! When styled correctly, they can be your best kept secret.

Ravishing Red

RED HOT – Have Blondes and Brunettes Had Their Turn in The Spotlight?

With summer just around the corner, what better way to get yourself in the mood than to spice up your look with a change of hair colour!  Whether it’s vivid copper highlights, a mahogany tint or bright red, hair hues are hotting up the pages of our celebrity magazines and there are plenty of flame haired beauties to turn to for inspiration.

Cheryl Cole famously captured the nation’s hearts on The X Factor last year when she appeared with a stunning cherry red hair colour, causing other celebrities to jump on the bandwagon and follow suit! Amy Childs’ deep, glossy red locks are her trademark, which she keeps in tip top condition with regular deep conditioning treatments.

It’s not just celebrities who are embracing the latest hair trend, the Spring/Summer catwalks have also been awash with gorgeous red shades – rich cinnamon red shades have been spotted at Margiela, whilst Gucci showcased soft and shiny strawberry blonde.

Dying your hair red and updating your look has never been easier. There are a great selection of hair dyes available on the high street which won’t break the bank. A few of my favourites include:

John Freida Foam Colour Dye in Deep Cherry Brown – the foam formula is really easy to apply and doesn’t drip. Expect gorgeous results in twenty minutes!
Live Colour XXL Colour Intense Hypnotic Red R37 – a gorgeous crimson shade. Be prepared to turn heads!
Alternatively, if you’re not feeling brave enough to embark on your transformation at home, take a photo of your favourite shade to your hairdressers.

As with all colour treated hair, red hair requires special care. The chemicals in hair dye can cause your hair to feel slightly dry, which is why it’s important to keep it super hydrated with hair masks and lots of conditioner. The better condition your red hair, the more shiny and glossy it’ll look! I love the Radiant Red range by John Freida, which smells gorgeous and leaves your hair feeling unbelievably soft and silky.

Finally, the must have for any hair style – clip in hair extensions! ClipHair offer a wide range of red extensions – from gorgeous strawberry blonde to striking bright red! The extensions are made of the finest quality Remy human hair – the very best on the market. This means they blend perfectly with your own hair, unlike the unnatural plastic looking shine which comes with synthetic extensions. Remy hair is considered the finest hair because the cuticles are kept intact and not stripped, ensuring that the hair stays super soft, shiny, silky and tangle free throughout its lifetime. Get yours today! www.cliphair.co.uk

Beautiful Braids

Whilst it may seem an age away with the constant rainy English weather, before we know it the season of festivals, beach parties and barbeques will be among us…

What better way to accessorise your tanned skin, bikini and floppy hat than an on trend braid? Braids are a quick and easy way to look stylish in hot weather when having hair down can get a little hot and sticky. When I’m at the beach or chilling by the pool the last thing I want to be worrying about is how my hair looks. By styling it into a braid it stays put and keeps me looking good throughout the day.

The Fishtail Braid

Spotted on everyone who’s anyone – including Leona Lewis, Selena Gomez and Blake Lively to name a few, the fishtail braid is a hairstyle staple.

The style looks like it would be tricky to master, but it’s actually surprisingly easy to do.

1) Comb and remove any tangles from hair.

2) Divide your hair into two large sections straight down the middle of your hair. Decide what direction you’ll weave; you can weave from left to right, or right to left, depending on whatever feels comfortable.

3) Pull a thin strand of hair from outside of the first section. Pull this strand over the first section, and add it under the second section on the other side. In other words, the strand of hair has gone over the first section and finishes under the second section.

4) Do the same for the other side. Pull a skinny strand of the hair from the outside of the second section and over this section, then weave it under the first section. Keep on repeating the steps until you reach the end of your hair.

You can watch my step by step fishtail tutorial on YouTube – EllieClipHair

The Waterfall Braid

Another style which looks very complex but in actual fact Is surprisingly easy is the waterfall braid. This is perfect for a festival as it allows you to keep your hair down but with a pretty twist.
All of these hairstyles are created using ClipHair hair extensions which add the volume and length needed to create a gorgeous braid. Order yours today at www.cliphair.co.uk Happy Braiding!
